Director of Sales, Utility
Job Description:
- The Direct of Sales, Utility must have in-depth understanding of utility industry (Municipal, IOU, REU, and Publicly Owned Electric Utilities) and will utilize that understanding to develop & execute a profitable business plan. The Director of Sales, Utility must have experience in selling to utility accounts.
Job Functions:
- Manage and execute sales activities to achieve profit, revenue and market share goals.
- Generate new businesses and ensure growth of existing accounts.
- Call on key accounts, assist & lead sales representative with maintaining relationships, business negotiations and finalizing deals.
- Maintain knowledge of smart grid market trends, technologies and industry developments & report to product & development group.
- Support company's business planning and revenue forecasting.
- Represents company & promote company products at conference & exhibition events.
- Provide monthly, quarterly and yearly sales reports.
- Up to 60% traveling may be required
- Performing other duties as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of sales & management experience. Experience in utility (electricity & gas) and municipality markets are preferred.
- BA Degree required. MBA a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of industrial network & telecom standards & technologies.
- Knowledgeable of Smart Grid Process & Implementation.
- Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.
- Required to develop a deep understanding of the electric utility industry. Prior experience with the US Utility market preferred.
- Strong team-orientation/skills required.
- Exceptional communications skills, including inter-personal, writing, and speaking.
- Ability to work effectively, knowledgeably and collaboratively with a wide range of internal company functions.
- Ability to protect and maintain confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
